We offer 3 various tours designed to suit all budgets. Depending on your available free time we can offer you various adventures in the Alcantara valley or on the highest volcano in Europe, Mount Etna.

SICILIA IN QUAD TOUR

Alcantara valley Excursion
This short excursion of approximately 10 km long is carried out on 90% off-road and 10% tarmacked roads. It lasts approximately 1 hour and offers the opportunity to those that would like to experience the thrill of driving a quad off road at beginner level. This tour suits those that would like to spend an hour of their day visiting two of the rivers that feed the Alcantara gorge, which gives its name to the valley.
This excursion starts at the set meeting point close to the town of Francavilla di Sicilia, from 9.00 am until 7.00 pm every day, every hour throughout the day. 365 days a year weather permitting.

Alcantara Valley and Gurne Excursion
This Quad Tour of approximately 30 kilometres and 2.5hours long, is carried out on 80% off-road and 20% tarmacked roads. It will partly follow the same route as the 1 hour excursion up to the square of Madonna Gala, and then continue along the streams of the river Alcantara, which gives its name to the valley. We proceed towards the historic bridge dating back to the early 1900s, which divides Castiglione from Francavilla di Sicilia, here we will have reached the famous Gurne di Francavilla di Sicilia or "Gurne" dell'Alcantara, a name that comes from the Sicilian dialect indicating a lake or natural pool. These are small lakes of running water formed inside an old lava flow.
We finally reach the entrance to the nature trail directly by Quad. During the summer period it will be possible to take a refreshing swim in the natural pools with crystal clear waters. We will then make our way back to base.
This excursion has 4 daily departures: morning 09:00 and 10:30, afternoon 14:00 and 16:30, 7 days a week, 365 days a year weather permitting.

Grand Etna Quad Experience Excursion
This experience is the Queen of Quad in terms of duration, kilometres travelled, number of places visited and most importantly for the physical effort required. In fact this tour involves a distance of 80 km, divided into 50% off-road and 50% tarmacked, visiting some of the highlights of the Etna Volcano.
After leaving our starting point we will immediately head towards the centre of Francavilla and Castiglione di Sicilia, taking in a fun journey along a dirt track which will lead us to an old basaltic mineral extraction quarry in the commune of Linguaglossa, this was formed after the war on a lava flow left by the 1923 eruption.
After approximately 12 kilometres uphill we will arrive at one of the 200 lava flow caves for a pit stop of around 30 minutes with some gentle trekking to "the cave of the Corruccio".
The last stop is the "Piano Provenzana" refuge, at an altitude of 1900 metres above sea level, from here we will observe the effects of the eruption which in 2002 destroyed the tourist resort on the northern side. You will have the opportunity for a coffee and snack break before returning to our base via the Etna wine route.
This excursion, Grand Etna Quad Experience has 2 daily departures 09:00 and 14:00, 7 days a week, weather permitting. From 15th April to 15th October and can also be carried out on request during the winter months.

This tour does not include transfers to and from your accommodation, if this is required please request this during the booking process. We kindly request that you arrive at the designated meeting point 30 minutes prior to the excursion start time.
During your Tour you will be accompanied by an experienced Quad driver, speaking Italian and English, with a deep knowledge of the area.
We recommend booking this experience in advance to avoid disappointment, we require at least two days notice, bookings are subject to availability.

You may cancel this excursion free of charge up to 72 hours before the date of activity. No refunds will be given for cancellations within the 72 hour period, arriving late or no shows.

- Full driving licence is required for this excursion, minimum age 18 years old.
- This Tour is carried out 365 days a year, weather permitting.
