If you are a lover of wines and you like to explore natural beauty, the wine tour of Etna is exactly what you need! Etna, the most active volcano in Europe offers a unique habitat for the production of superior wines. During this tour you can visit three of the five vineyards we have selected for you. You will have the possibility to stroll through the vines and touch the grapes, you can taste some of their most famous wines and learn the techniques of cultivation and production used in the area, thus producing the best wines of Etna.
The vineyard tour allows the visit of two vineyards where you can taste their wines without lunch but accompanied by local produce. The third vineyard will give you the opportunity to enjoy a typical Sicilian meal keeping in perfect harmony with your selected wines which will bring joy to your palate sensing the unique flavour of the grapes.
During your journey through some of the most breath taking locations of Etna. The driver will inform you of various facts and characteristics of this geological phenomenon.

La Casa Arrigo is a wine cantine situated on the hills of Etna in Sicily producing superior wines at a high altitude. The wines of casa Arrigo are renowned for their elevated quality characterising the Etna region. Some of the most important wines produced by casa Arrigo are the white Carricante made from vines situated 800m above sea level, the red Nerello Mascalese with grapes that have been picked from vines sitting in volcanic soil full of strong minerals. During the process of production casa Arrigo are actively protecting the natural ambient of Etna utilising sustainable techniques and reducing the impact of its agricultural activity in the area.

Barone di Villagrande is a vineyard situated in Sicily at the foot of Etna, founded in 1727. The winery has a long tradition in the production of superior wines, thanks in particular to the position of its vines, situated 700m above sea level in volcanic soil rich in minerals. Some of the most famous wines of Barone di Villagrande are Etna white superior, produced with Carricante grapes and its Etna red reserve produced by Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccino grapes. Particularly noted is the Malvasia of Lipari, made by Barone di Villagrande which is a sweet desert wine produced on the Aeolian Island of Lipari. Rich and aromatic using the Malvasia grape, these are picked as late as possible during the harvest and left to wither naturally. The process of withering consents the must to concentrate in its own natural sugars, giving life to rich and intense wine with extracts of dried fruit, honey, flowers and spices. This will be served at the end of the tasting. The Cantine of Barone di Villagrande is situated in a historic palace and open to visitors who would like to discover the secrets in producing high quality wines, from the cultivation of the vines to the tasting of the finished product. Thanks to its privileged position the winery offers a unique tasting experience of its kind, with wines that offer distinctive character in this extraordinary area.

Gambino winery is situated in the picturesque village of Linguaglossa, on the foot of Etna, representing the art and passion of wine making, the fruit of hard work and vision of the family which has made cultivating vines as a reason of existence. Gambino wines has preserved the secrets of traditional cultivating techniques. They have also invested in the latest technology, assisting in improving the quality of the vines and the wine itself, favouring the use of natural products in treating the vines. The canteen is situated in a breath taking position above the vines, you will be welcomed by an expert sommelier in modern and comfortable surroundings. Gambino produces a vast array of wines, from the classic Etna red principally using the Nerello Mascalese grape, the most common in the Etna region, to a great Etna white and delicious rose. Other superior wines within their range which have been aged can be requested whilst doing your tasting session.

The Scilio winery was born in 1815 in the commune of Linguaglossa. It is an ideal winery for wine lovers and for those who wish to meet the local traditions in the Etna region. During the visit of the winery it will be possible to learn the story of local wines starting from the harvesting of the grapes through to the fermentation phase and finally the production of the superior grape. After our visit the moment will arrive of the wine tasting, an experience that will involve your senses of smell and taste. You will discover a variety of wines produced in this winery apprehending the characteristics of various years and appreciating the unique taste of Etna. During the wine tasting you will choose how to pair the various wines with local traditional foods whilst understanding how the climate and the volcanic land of Etna influences the characteristics of the wines. The vineyard offers various menus based on the combination of your chosen vineyards.

The holdings of San Michele on Etna is a well know wine producer positioned on the foot of the volcano in Sicily. The winery is dedicated to the production of superior wines with intense minerals and distinctive character, thanks to the altitude of the vines and the particularity of the territory. The winery offers a vast range of wines which are distinguished in Etna DOC, both white and red. The IGP Terre Siciliane, this is a selection of blends that combine various Sicilian vines which give a different harmony in respect of the DOC. A special mention goes to the sparkling wine, produced in a classic champagne method in the brut and extra brut versions.
The holdings of San Michele also offers a fantastic cuisine, for those who wish to have lunch, offering a started a duet of pastas, local sausage and salads, fruit and dessert with a combination of 5 wines including the sparkling option.
