Our excursion will begin with a convenient pick up directly from your accommodation onboard our off-road vehicle at a pre-arranged time. This will be a dual tour that will combine the adventurous off-road experience in a Jeep plus the direct contact with nature through the e-mountain bike which will allow us to discover places otherwise impossible to reach. This will be enriched by a lunch stop in one of the Etna chalets, where the culinary traditions of the mountain will leave an unforgettable imprint within us.

The day will begin with the collection from your accommodation at a pre-arranged time.
We will start our day onboard our Jeeps in the direction of the north-eastern side of Etna, crossing some of the villages that for thousands of years have resisted many furious eruptions on Etna's main crater. Thanks to its fertile land these villages today offer optimal produce such as: extra virgin olive oil, honey and wine.
As we surpass the villages of Piedimonte and Linguaglossa we will find ourselves on the Mareneve Road, we will travel for 16 km in the direction of Piano Provenzana. You will take in the scenery from the last eruption of 2002 which lasted 95 days. Our first stop will be the lava front of the above eruption where the lava flow came to a halt on January 29th 2003 at approximately 1100 metres above sea level.
Continuing our ascent up the mountain through the mareneve road we will arrive at the Ragabo refuge, here our adventure begins aboard the E-Mountain bike. The first stop will be at an altitude of 1300 metres above sea level, to greet and photograph the oldest pine of Etna called by the Sicilians "ZAPPINAZZU". Called this way by locals because the branches of this species remind them of a farmer's hoe. This 350 year old tree measures 40 metres in height and has a circumference of 6 metres.
On board our E-mountain bike we will continue inside the Etna park for approximately 2 km crossing the millenary Ragabo pine forest and intersecting some of the lava flows of this destructive 2002 eruption.
Leaving the first part of the E-mountain bike Experience, we will head towards the cave of Coruccio, where we will temporarily park our bikes and take a gentle 10 minute walk to discover a wonderful natural cave.
This is an eruptive cavity which flows for one part into the lava cone and the other towards the valley, it is located approximately 1400 metres above sea level, from here you will get a magnificent view of the bay of Taormina.
We will take our E-Mountain bikes again and follow a couple of kilometres of Altomontana track on the eastern side of Etna, crossing part of the pine forest that was destroyed during the 2002 eruption where the burnt trunks of the large secular pine trees are still visible lying on the lava track.
Our turnaround point will be at the panoramic spot which overlooks the Alcantara Valley and the villages below, at this point we will return to our Jeep.
Our day will end with a lunch break of approximately 1 hour at the Ragabo chalet, (or north-east side winery if requested during the booking phase), here it will be possible to combine local food and wine prepared according to the old Sicilian tradition. A highly magnetic place where culture, culinary art and naturalness harmoniously combine to satisfy the most complex of palates. We will continue our journey back to the accommodation taking in further highlights by Jeep.
