Our excursion The Godfather experience will begin with a convenient pick up directly from your accommodation onboard our off-road vehicle at a pre-arranged time. We will head off and discover locations and film sets that were all part of the timeless Godfather trilogy, renowned in Sicily and across the world for over 50 years. Full immersion in the mediaeval villages of Savoca and Casalvecchio Siculo where nature, art and culture awaits you.

The day will begin with the collection from your accommodation at a pre-arranged time.
We will head along the coastal route of the Ionian Sea, we will have the opportunity to see Isola Bella "the Beautiful Island of Taormina" located in the area of Mazzarò. We will continue past "Letojanni" reaching the "Castle of Sant'Alessio Siculo". From here we will cross the river of "Santa Teresa di Riva", where in the first of the Godfather trilogy the eyes met between Michele Corleone and Apollonia. After a few 100 metres we will reach the Byzantine church of "San Pietro and Paolo" constructed in the 12th century, partly built with four of the missing columns from the Greek Theatre of Taormina.
After this stop, we will prepare to immerse for around 3.5 km in unspoilt nature, typical of this Mediterranean island whilst heading towards the town of Casalvecchio Sicul.
Our tour continues with a visit to Casalvecchio Siculo, a small village built 450 metres above sea level where time seems to have stood still 50 years ago. Strolling through these small quaint streets you can breathe an air of peace and serenity. "The Belvedere'' on the central square, will give you a magnificent view of "Savoca" and the towns of the Valle d'Agrò.
A must visit to the magnificent church of S.Onofrio with its 16th century murals and a Baroque style frontage.
Arriving in Savoca, the chosen location by Francis Ford Coppola in 1970 giving life to "The Godfather Movie" We will start our tour on foot through the small streets of this mediaeval town, which today has a population of around 100 residents.
Our first stop will be the world renowned "Bar Vitelli", where actors and directors during the time of filming met. Today it is possible to admire original photos of scenes from the film between Michele Corleone, Gangsters and the Father of Apollonia where Michele asks her father for his daughter's hand in marriage.
You will also have the opportunity to taste “Lemon Granita” with "Zibibbo" wine, like the director and actors loved to taste.
After this full immersion in Tasting and Art we begin the walk towards the church of "Santa Lucia", here the wedding scene was immortalised which puts the seal of love between Michele and Apollonia. Immediately after the ceremony they were escorted by gangsters, together with the musical band and the family following towards the central piazza of the village, this is where the lunch and wedding dance took place.
In the town of Savoca, between the 17th and 18th century, mummification was practised, this rite was reserved for people of importance for the development of the town, like aristocrats, lawyers, doctors or priests. This took place through a long process of mummification with natural products which was effectively practised in the "Mother Church" but then transported in the crypt of the "Cappuccini Monks”.
After this visit we will return back to your accommodation. .
