Our excursion Taormina and Surrounding Villages by Jeep will begin with a convenient pick up directly from your accommodation on board our off-road vehicle at a pre-arranged time. This excursion by Jeep will give you the opportunity to discover places that otherwise would be impossible to see, the real Sicily, hidden between old roads still used by local farmers. You will witness incredible scenery and arrive at the highest point “Monte Venere", 780 metres above sea level.

The day will begin with the collection from your accommodation at a pre-arranged time.
Our journey begins in the direction of the small Santa Venera River at which point we will cross the river to begin our climb up the hill.
During our ascent on the hill of Mastrissa you will note historic ruins within cultivated land, perfectly harmonising oaks, olive groves, vineyards, amongst other various greenery.
While exiting the area, magnificent views of Mount Etna and The Alcantara Valley will open up in front of you.
We will reach "Monte Venere", the majestic part of our excursion. This is the highest point of the area between Taormina and Castelmola at an altitude of 780 metres above sea level, considered a natural terrace where you can admire from a single point the bay of Giardini Naxos, Taormina, Castelmola, Mount Etna and all the villages around.
Monte Venere is located on the crest of the hill that divides the bay of Giardini Naxos, the Valle D'agrò and Alcantara, from here we will carry out a gentle trek of around 15 minutes on a guided rocky path.
After our trek we will resume our journey descending from Monte Venere in the direction of Castelmola, amongst almond trees and ancient terraces. A stroll through the mediaeval village is a must taking in the Cathedral and the Castle that towers above the village. Here we will have the opportunity to taste the local Almond Wine, have a coffee and take some photos.
Our last stop of this journey is the church of the Madonna della Rocca, an ex-convent built in the 16th century excavated inside the rock under an Arab Castle. From here we will take in majestic views of the Greek Theatre and Taormina.

We will collect you from your accommodation at a previously agreed time between 8.30am and 9am
Your guide will be an experienced driver that speaks: Italian, English, Spanish , with a deep knowledge of the local area.
