The Refuge of Piano Provenzana

During the excursion you will be lead in the discovery of old and new volcanic fractures, volcanic cones of large proportions and caves. All this will take place on a 7km path. The meeting place is Piano Provenzana at 7,30am, from here we climb onto a specialist 4x4 vehicle which will take us from an altitude of 1800 metres to 2900 metres. Here we will carry out a brief trek close to the Volcanologist Observatory building, from here we will be able to admire the Valley of Bove and the summit craters from a safe distance. We will proceed in our specialist vehicle to an altitude of 2600 metres where we start our demanding trek, reaching our starting point of 1800 metres. The total length of time of this experience is 4 and a half hours with a difference in altitude of 250 metres.
A good physical condition is required to face the climb to the summit.

We will meet directly at Piano Provenzana Etna North at 7.30am. Or (on request at the time of booking) we can collect you from your accommodation at an agreed time.
Your guide will be an experienced volcano guide that speaks: Italian, English, French with a deep knowledge of Volcanoes and the local area.
